What Does Ron Paul mean when he refers to "Washington"

Just yesterday, Wolf Blitzer, I think, asked RP what he meant when he referred to "Washington". Well, any dummy knows except Blitzer the reindeer, that Washington is the central core of our ills. I don't recall Ron Paul's response, but I'm sure it must have been an abstraction to the power that the anointed have over the rest of us.

But, it got me to thinking about a discussion I had with a DC bureaucrat while visiting friends in Maryland this past July enroute to the deep North.

I found him to be a pragmatist and realist beyond any I'd met before. He didn't seem to have any ideology nailed down for himself, but was extremely well-informed on most of the issues. I'd say he was in his mid-fifties. He promised to watch the Russo DVD I gave him anyway, and I'm sure he did.

But, here's the thing about "Washington" that I gleaned from this politically savvy man. The primary concern of a federal worker, and thus the culture in Maryland and DC, is their JOB. In each election their deep concern is will they keep their job. I don't know the % of voters in the federal workforce, but I bet it's significantly higher than the average. They, if to believe my friend's neighbor, will cast their votes for the candidate who offers a better, or job retention program. These bureaucratic dependents are ideological voided. They have no philosophical anchors, but yet they know the size of the fedgov has greatly exceeded its lawful limit. You want them to vote the commie line? Not a problem. Vote for a Republican? Why not? I think the urban New England centers have pretty much adopted this same "believe-in-nothing but yourself" culture. My chatting friend says they have an ongoing fear what the rest of the country might do. Which is another way expressing a fear that "the people" may determine that "Washington" has been voting themselves a living for way too long. And worse, take action to change it.

But, when you give this perverted view of our system further thought you realize that this distortion is not really different from the corporate socialism that plagues the country at a higher decision making level. Politicians now have assumed the authority to reward financial contributors with contracts, appointments, etc. Even money. Whomever offers the greater expansion of "Washington" gets the funding.

So, don't be discouraged when you don't see much help coming from the national or state-level GOP. These ideological voided hacks want to continue the fire sale of America's institutions, jobs, sovereignty, and general welfare of American citizens.

We just have to work harder. It's Honor, Principle, Virtue, and an appreciation for the individual that's made America great. Not treason to those qualities. We should all remember that as Ron Paul supporters we reflect his views, and how and in what informed manner we do, will determine whether we as a people become "Washington's" nightmare come true.

Think about it. With more of the fedgov's assumed powers returned to the states and their people - - maybe having a state or local job's the place to be!!

I'm seeing the Hope become Reality. What about you?

Our Founding Fathers studied the Magna Carta

While you're boning up on the Constitution, be reminded that a source for consideration in drafting our Constitution was the Magna Carta of 1215. Our founding fathers would identify his arguments in favor of the 5th and 8th Amendments originating more than 500 years before. Do you know what those amendments are? Know then, if we only had chief justices like Owen installed in our Supreme Court instead of the black-robed Mafia, our survival as a free people may stand a chance.

You will find many other elements of our Constitution embodied in the Magna Carta. It's not
that long a document. Be sure that Dr. Paul's read it. So should you. How can anyone be passionate to defend something (Constitution) if they are ignorant of its origins?

Your Founders knew the history of freedom and individual liberty inside and out. So does Ron Paul.

Bond insurers set off fresh wave of panic

Don't for a second believe that just owning gold and silver will improve your quality of life from where it is right now. If you think gold and silver, by going to the moon, will reward you with many treasures, look around at your country, and you'll see otherwise. You won't be able to just dust yourself off and climb out from under a storm shelter with your gold and silver & all will be marvelously well, like you survived a hurricane, and can now look over the booty, and all will be right once again.

In a complete currency collapse with hyperinflation, what happiness do you find with your friends and family out of work? Sure, you might be easily able to afford $20 for a gallon of gas, but what if there isn't any? If there was, where would you go? Most entertainment options will not be operating. No customers, that's why. At the end of the Weimar inflation 91% of the household budgets went for food! You'll stay home or ride broken down public busses like everyone else. And then there'll be the crime. Goons from who knows where will roam. And, the worst of all - ENVY. Tell a soul how you protected yourself and you'll be the Uriah Heep for all time. You won't feel right telling your church friends to wait for the Rapture. They'll look to you for charity and you must help them. It will be YOU who will be looked to for the re-building of America. As it should be. Further federal government intrusion will make the misery far worse. In my opinion, Ron Paul is the only candidate qualified to lead us through this and emerge with our sovereignty intact.

How to setup a Quasi-Theocratic Dictatorship-Pat Robertson backs Giuliani

Not to be shocked or surprised that christian right evangelist Pat Robertson has endorsed Rudy Giuliani. I guess he had to abstain from making his selection until he saw which way the big money (Wall Street) was going. Oh, were you aware that "reverend" Robertson was given $14 million "faith-based" grant from the federal government? Yeah, baby, there's a lot more money to be made than just passing a plate once a week! It's good to get the counterfeit christian charlatans like Robertson out of the closet now. It'll line up the enemies of freedom even clearer in our sights for firing off our Truth Pellets.
Pat Robertson Backs Giuliani's Bid

Now, even better is this site Faith-based Watch, Media Transparency CBN (700 Club) raked in a whopping $462,563,151 in revenue for 2004! Take that in the face you Ron Paul Christians!

When you realize the significance of distributing over $19 million to selected religious organizations you can begin to construct the mosaic of control Robertson's subversive christianity has over local churches and their pastors. Bona fide Christians best look within their own places of worship. Start your own Know Your Church program!

Robertson was even invited to address the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) on January 26, 1987. His subject matter? How the UN could be reformed!

Robertson has long craved national prominence. After losing his own bid for the presidency he threw his support to George-the-Elder.

So what's to know?

Trade in the Americas: The Conspiratorial Urban Legend of the Evil NAFTA Superhighway

Harvesting the Enemies of America Series

*** DISINFORMATION HIT PIECE *** from: World Trade Magazine

[snippet]
Trade in the Americas: The Conspiratorial Urban Legend of the Evil NAFTA Superhighway, by Clay Risen The questions surprised even a presidential candidate as poised as Mitt Romney. A bespectacled, matronly woman at the back of the audience in Story City, Iowa, had heard news about an enormous highway being built between across the Midwest, linking Mexico and Canada.“You can find it on the Internet, a Security and Prosperity Partnership that’s been working for a while to join the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and part of it is a NAFTA superhighway,” she explained. She rejected Romney’s dismissal that the story was make-believe. “I don’t think they’re talking about it,” she retorted. Rather than argue, he offered a vague promise—“if they are building it, I’ll stop it”—and quickly took another question. The “superhighway question” recurred often on the GOP campaign trail. Rudy Giuliani got it in Concord, New Hampshire.

In Cedar Falls, Iowa, John McCain was asked what he knew about secret plans for a highway “to unite the three nations together.” According to libertarian Rep. Ron Paul, a conservative Republican Congressman from Texas running for president (and a firm opponent of the superhighway), the plans to link Mexico, the United States and Canada by a monster highway will be the sleeper issue of the 2008 election. The Concord Monitor (New Hampshire) agrees: “The road comes up at town meetings second only to immigration policy.”Reality is there’s no such highway in the works. “The U.S. government is not planning a NAFTA Super Highway,” reads a Commerce Department web page. “The U.S. government does not have the authority to designate any highway as a NAFTA Superhighway, nor has it sought such authority, nor is it planning to seek such authority.”But that inconvenient fact hasn’t quelled populist unrest.Riding well below the mainstream media’s radar, the highway is just one of the many real and imagined cross-border programs—the Security and Prosperity Partnership (real), the North American Union (imagined), the “amero” currency (also imagined)—to draw the attention of conspiracy-theory mongers over the past year. It is all over the right-wing blogosphere. And, it is the reigning issue in newsletters put out by fringe groups like the John Birch Society. Asserted CNN host Lou Dobbs last year, “The Bush White House, supported by corporate America and special interests, [is] building a
superhighway dividing this country, a superhighway that will run between Mexico and Canada.”Politicians are stoking the flames. In January, Virginia GOP Rep. Virgil Goode introduced a bill—which quickly gained 27 co-sponsors—“expressing the sense of Congress that the United States should not engage in the construction of a North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) Superhighway System or enter into a North American Union with Mexico and Canada.”

Nor is this a partisan issue: In July the House approved, by an overwhelming 362-63 vote, a ban on funding for a “NAFTA superhighway.” Most recently, Goode joined 21 fellow representatives in a letter to President George W. Bush warning of “serious and growing concern in the U.S. Congress about the so-called Security and Prosperity Partnership.”Bush, speaking at a meeting with his Canadian and Mexican counterparts, laughed it off. “I’m amused by the difference between what
actually takes place in the meetings and by what some are trying to say takes place,” he said. “It’s quite comical actually, to realize the difference between reality and what some people on TV are talking about.”Such talk would be comical—superstates, evil corporations, a continental currency—if it weren’t also a potential threat to trade and economic growth. Tri-national trade has reached $700 billion annually, with the value of goods moving through the Laredo, Texas border crossing alone exceeding that of all goods coming from Great Britain. Economists predict those numbers will increase dramatically as U.S.-bound shipping moves from overburdened American ports to new and upgraded destinations along the Mexican and Canadian Pacific coasts. Indeed, tri-national trade has tripled since the signing of NAFTA, but cross-border infrastructure spending has been nearly flat. “The entire U.S. economy is going to be more and more dependent on the strength of its multimodal system,” says Frank Conde, spokesman for the North America’s SuperCorridor Coalition (NASCO), an infrastructure advocacy group. That means more efficient border crossings, regulatory harmonization, and bigger and better infrastructure projects, which will take significant political and fiscal commitment at all levels of government. So while it’s one thing for blogs and newsletters to hype the latest conspiracy theory, it’s a serious concern when politicians start listening, and advocate legislation to block needed government investments. “Everything they say about an NAU, the SPP, and a NAFTA superhighway are falsehoods,” says Conde. “The confusion caused by organizations like that harms our ability to improve trade links.” At the precise moment when we need to be moving forward as quickly as possible on international infrastructure, the conspiracy theorists are threatening to push us backward.

This latest surge in conspiracy theorizing draws on a long-running thread in American culture.“Historically, there has always been a feeling among some in the United States that we could be more secure and prosperous if we separated ourselves from the world,” notes Robert Pastor, director of the Center for North American Studies at American University. Conspiracy theory mongering around NAFTA has been churning since President Bill Clinton signed the treaty in 1993, with the John Birch Society and other far-right groups declaring it a threat to American sovereignty and jobs. But a variety of trends have combined to both ramp up the volume and spread it closer to the mainstream. The most obvious factor is a general turning away from free trade on both the right and the left. Populist politicians in both parties have lashed out at international trade deals as the product of undemocratic plutocrats and their allies in the federal government. After her anti-superhighway bill passed in July, Ohio’s Mary Kaptur declared “a victory for openness in trade negotiations, highway safety, good wages, and fair trade policies. The grip of global corporations was loosened last night.”As conservative commentator Phyllis Schlafly wrote in a recent syndicated column, “Now that the game plan is laid out, we can connect the dots: the North American Free Trade Agreement; the admission of Mexican trucks onto U.S. highways; the contract to build the TransTexas Corridor and the plans to extend it into a NAFTA Superhighway; making Kansas City an international ‘port’; the ‘totalization’ of illegal immigrants into the U.S. Social Security system; and the recently defeated Senate amnesty bill.”Ironically, many free trade advocates say that when you look at the actual state of cross-border cooperation, the problem is not that we’re doing too much. It’s that we’re not doing enough. Take the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP), an ongoing dialogue begun in 2005 and designed to coordinate cross-border regulatory and security policies. While conspiracy theorists depict the SPP as a way to weaken American laws, in fact it has no authority to make any changes one way or another to the regulatory regime. “The SPP conforms with existing laws,” says David Bohigan, assistant secretary of commerce for market access and compliance. Instead, he says, the goal is to harmonize existing laws and regulations between countries. Think of it as a matter of translation: Far from forcing everyone to learn Spanish, the SPP is like a Spanish-to-English dictionary, allowing English speakers to understand their neighbors without ditching their own language. A typical initiative under the framework calls for the three nations to “develop a common approach to standardize the regulatory measures taken in response to Phakopsora pachyrizi (soybean rust).”

If this is a conspiracy theory, it’s hardly the stuff of aliens and x-files. The SPP actually has a number of critics on the other side, people who say it does not go far enough in establishing a framework for discussion. “If there is anything wrong with the SPP, it is not secrecy, but the fact that it is a mishmash of disconnected and mostly trivial initiatives, lacking any organizing vision or direction,” wrote Roland Paris, a former Canadian foreign policy adviser, in the Toronto Globe and Mail.“The SPP is an important initiative,” says Pastor. “My fear is that it is too timid and too fearful of criticism from the right.”Wholly separate from the SPP are efforts to expand the transportation infrastructure that carries goods into and around the country. Rather than links in a conspiratorial plot, in fact they are uncoordinated, unrealized, and in most cases unlikely to be built. First, there is North America’s SuperCorridor Coalition, a Dallas-based nonprofit. Despite its imposing name, NASCO is nothing more than an advocacy group for better use of current trade corridors, in particular the routes running from Mexico to Canada. “What we’re trying to do is push both the private sector and the public sector to maximize the efficiency and security of the existing transportation infrastructure,” says NASCO’s Conde.Even NASCO admits that improving the efficiency of existing corridors is hardly a solution for the long term. Between now and 2025, Texas alone will see a 132 percent increase in traffic, with 260,465 trucks using its highways every day. In response, Texas Gov. Rick Perry has been pushing for what comes closest to an actual NAFTA superhighway: a new, 1,200-foot-wide toll road running from the Mexican border to Oklahoma, the centerpiece in a collection of projects known as the TransTexas Corridor (TTC).

Because the highway, estimated to take $180 billion and 50 years to build, would cut through numerous Texas communities and displace up to one million residents, the plan has drawn a fusillade of public criticism, particularly from farmers who stand to lose valuable land to the project.Handing over infrastructure management to the foreign private sector is nothing new—French firms run numerous American water districts, and an Australian-Spanish joint venture manages the Chicago Skyway. Nevertheless, the possible role of foreign business in the TTC’s construction and operation has given an added twist to fears of a NAFTA superhighway. Such opposition has already throttled Perry’s momentum toward approving the TTC, and observers say it looks increasingly unlikely that the project will get built. The controversy over the “superhighway,” the SPP, the TTC and other efforts exposes a harsh truth about the future of the American economy. While free trade agreements and World Trade Organization negotiations are vital, the means by which trade actually occurs—or, increasingly, is impeded—are the everyday pieces of the continental transportation infrastructure: highways, rails, port terminals, and regulations. And, while the United States has maintained a global leadership on writing and expanding trade deals, it has done a poor job of expanding its infrastructure to meet the demands of the resulting increases in cross-border trade. All of which means that the more the conspiracy theorists on the Internet, in the media, and in government frame the issue on their terms, the less the country will be able to make the sorts of investments necessary to assure its long-term growth—and therefore the long-term prosperity of the continent, and the world. Sen. Schumer's Conflict of Interest

Sen. Schumer who's been the leading loudmouth on foreign governments investing or buying into US corporations is not surprisingly quite calm about the Red Chinese buying into Bear Stearns:
"Sen. Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.), who expressed concern last month over a minority stake of 19.9 percent in the Nasdaq Stock Market by a Dubai state-controlled investment firm, said yesterday that the Chinese investment "helps keep Bear Stearns independent," which he said was "good for New York and America."
When you see that he was given over $126,000 by Bear Stearns, Schumer can see even bigger $$ signs coming his way as greases the skids for subversion of our institutions, culture and currency. An "independent" Bear Stearns? Come'on Chuck, you're a crook and the public knows it. Clearly, you are a living example of how countries are betrayed from within before they fall to those from without.

Confederate Inflation Then - Southern Ignorance Today

We all know of our country's early experience with the "continental dollar". Some have even claimed we've "learned" something everlasting from it. I don't think so. My evidence is the southern people share no common memories of even their own currency becoming worthless, again the Yankee has them in bondage to a new paper money of their creation. It's apparent that g-granddaddies did not weave stories of horrific loss of their wealth to their descendants. If they did, my observations are that those stories never stuck as there's an equal amount of ignorance - even more - in the South about commodity money than in the North. In a community the size of Charleston, easily over 250,000, there is NOT ONE retail coin dealer. While southerners may spin their yarns of Yankee Reconstruction plunder and other atrocities, few have made preparation for the next occasion when the dollars they hold will impoverish them just as their ancestors discovered. Yes, history is to be repeated and southerners are condemned to repeat it. You know their ancestors given another chance would know better, and grab up every double eagle & silver dollar they could find. So, when you run around shouting "Freedom!" realize full well that with freedom comes individual responsibility, and that means caring for yourself and not looking to a nanny state as your agent to steal the savings of others more responsible than you.

The Confederate Inflation

Figure 4 plots the Grayback price of a gold dollar during the Civil War. Large movements in Grayback money prices are labeled and associated with important military, fiscal, and political events to determine events important to contemporaries of the Civil War. Grayback prices depreciated following battle defeats at Antietam and Gettysburg/Vicksburg. The gold premium also rose following the passage of the US Conscription/Finance Bill that increased the North's ability to finance the war and draft soldiers. A final breakpoint occurred in late spring 1864 when the Confederate government repudiated one-third of the money supply with a currency reform act. The monetary legislation's positive effect on currency prices was short-lived, however, as the Confederacy cranked up the printing press again in the fall of 1864. Graybacks renewed their depreciation and continued to actively trade until early February 1864. At this point, many Richmond bankers and gold traders packed their wagons and left the besieged capital (Weidenmier, 2002a).

Lerner (1954, 1955, 1956) used the quantity theory of money to analyze the Confederate inflation. The quantity theory of money can be described by the following equation:

M = K*(P*Y), (1)

where P is the price level, Y is real (i.e., inflation-adjusted) output, and M is money. Equation (1) assumes that people hold some fraction, K, of their nominal income, P*Y, in the form of money. For example, if your income was $10,000 per year and K=1/5, then you would hold $2,000 in the form of money. To study inflation, it is useful to express equation (1) in growth rates, using equation (2):

p = m - y - k (2)

Lerner decomposed the influence of changes in money, velocity -- the number of times a dollar bill turns over in a year (mathematically velocity is the inverse of k) -- and real output on the inflation rate -- the rate at which prices rise. Lerner showed that the Confederate money supply increased 11.5 times between January 1861 and October 1864 while commodity prices increased 28 times in the same period (also see Godfrey, 1978). Rising velocity contributed to the runaway price level as people reduced their holdings of money balances and purchased commodities and non-monetary assets. Lerner also inferred from periodic Treasury reports that the South experienced a forty percent fall in real output during the war.

The Dollar: How Low Can It Go?

We believe the Fed is engineering this dollar drop to be confluent with the implementation of the NAU and its currency, the Amero. We see their plan as being timed so as not to upset the general election next November, but instead to be an "exciting new launching" for our elected incumbents by "restoring American competitiveness" in the globalist economic world of "free trade". If the recent past is any prelude, then Americans will be grateful for this colorful new straitjacket, and appreciative of their loss of national sovereignty. Multi-nationals, central banks, and selected other privileged entities will be sheltered from any currency losses with the new Amero.

LONDON (ResourceInvestor.com) -- Last week the dollar touched a new low, and with economic news from the U.S. not making for entirely comfortable reading, there is likely more pain to come.

The Federal Reserve is due to meet again later this month, and it would surprise no one if the outcome of that meeting were to be another rate cut – perhaps by a quarter point following last month’s drastic half point cut.

What is the Bank for International Settlements in Basle?

"...Highlighting the path to a single world monetary policy is the need to solve the effects of the globalization process which was created by the same people who wish to solve it. The Bank for International Settlements designed the present borderless flow of monies between countries when it pushed for the deregulation of monetary laws of the major North American, European, and Asian countries. By tearing down national financial borders, they created the ability for $1.2 trillion daily to flow around the world (uncontrolled stateless money) looking for the highest interest or fastest currency play. In the process of solving the problem, the BIS will then extend its tentacles down to the local level (which are not controlled or supervised by this supranational organization) for a complete takeover of the world's banking system through the Basle Core Principles--without even one bullet being fired---a fait accompli. By the time the average citizen has figured this out-- much less those who are elected to Congress--it will be too late.

If you could control the monetary system of the world, how would you do it? Very simply, you first start with your own country or a country which would be easy to persuade. Then if you went systematically around the world to other countries doing the same thing, it would not be long before the control of the world's monetary system would be in the hands of a few men whose wealth and power would grow with the size and number of countries they control and the size of the country's debt, which would now run in perpetuity, providing an unending stream of income for generations to the lenders and bondage to the debtor!..."

US Dollar has Lost 96% of Value Since Federal Reserve Creation in 1913

Most people don’t fully appreciate how poorly the Fed has managed the currency since cancelling the dollar’s convertibility into gold in 1971. That brazen act cut the ties between the dollar and any fundamental value, leaving only political restraint to underpin the dollar. The chart below
paints a clear picture of the result.

Said another way, if my maternal grandparents had set aside $100 for my mother who was born in 1914, and as she is still living, it now requires nearly $2,075 to buy what $100 purchased in 1913.

In time, and maybe in our time, the piper has to be paid. And make no mistake, the price of too many dollars chasing too many goods is inflation. And record money creation leads to record inflation.

Japanese Corporations Pay for Iranian Oil with Yen

What are our Money Masters to do? Red China & Russia are two others with solidified relationships now with Iran. Bullying smaller countries is one thing, but to wave our nuke missiles at the world's heavy hitters is national suicide (our suicide, not the bankers'). As Ron Paul has repeatedly warned, our military is in shambles, and our national security is threatened. When you look over what we have for a US Congress, it's downright frightening. When one is intellectually honest with himself, the only choice to restore sanity and security is Ron Paul.

Japanese oil refiners Cosmo Oil Co. and Japan Energy Corp. have started paying for Iranian crude oil in yen instead of dollars, announced company spokesmen on October 9. Both companies are following in the footsteps of Nippon Oil Corp.-Japan's largest oil refiner-which made the same announcement in September.

How significant is it that more and more nations are ceasing to use the dollar as a reserve currency?

Since the 1944 Bretton Woods Agreement, the US dollar has been the world's primary reserve currency. This has been especially true regarding the crude oil trade, in which the majority of nations pay for crude oil in dollars. The resulting massive demand for dollars has allowed the United States to accumulate trade deficits and fiscal debts without experiencing the negative economic impacts that such imbalances normally cause. Who Has Claim to the People's Gold: U.S. International Reserve Position

Whaaa? Scroll down & see that we're "swapping out" our gold! What does that mean: "if appropriate"? To my mind it is never appropriate! Believe me, a gold reserve of 8,171 tonnes is skimpy when stacked against the billions of fiat notes the Fed has printed. Come to think of it, I recall seeing Gold Certificates on a Fed financial statement. Are those Gold Certificates redeemable for the people's gold shown on the statement below? How can a private cartel like the Federal Reserve hold claims on our national treasure? We need an independent physical audit to straighten out this accounting chicanery!
And then, only another paltry +$68 billion in foreign currency? That's diddly-squat. No where near adequate enough to defend our dollar. All of which means we have to go to our knees and beggar thy neighbor.
You can begin to see why we never rattle our nuclear missile saber at Red China! Like any bully does, we'll confine our prey to the ne'r-do-wells like Iran, thank you very much. Communist good. Islam bad.

Congressman Ron Paul: Dollar Could Collapse To Absolute Zero

Presidential candidate Ron Paul has made a dire prediction that the dollar could collapse to absolute zero - precipitating hyper inflation, soaring oil prices and a global economic depression if current policies are continued.

"Once they realize the American people have awakened to the con game that's been going on - I think those people running the banking and monetary system aren't going to be too happy," Paul told the Alex Jones Show on Friday.

The Texas Congressman forecasts that if current policies are prolonged, the dollar could crash all the way to nothing and be forced to start over.

"If Bush is foolish enough to start bombing Iran, that might precipitate such a crisis as oil going to $200 dollars a barrel and really dampening the enthusiasm of the whole dollar," said Paul.

"If they continue what they're doing, it's gonna go to zero, we're gonna have runaway inflation, all paper currencies eventually self-destruct and are ruined, and we're in uncharted waters right now - this is the first time in the history of man you've had no solid currencies around the world and this has been going on for 35 years." Fred Thompson a Conservative? Not Hardly!

A "conservative CFR member" is an oxymoron. There is no such thing. Fred Thompson is just such a phony. We think he's being offered up by the CFR to the uninformed Republican base to de-fuse the Ron Paul machine. The CFR is very concerned about Ron Paul's surging popularity. It should be pretty obvious that Fred has no real desire to go into the White House.

How to Trade the Gold Market – Get a Pencil!

By: George J. Cocalis
One of the hardest commodities to trade this year has been the gold market. If you go back to the first trading day of the year, gold collapsed $20 only to rebound $80 the next two months only to give it back again. This was an indication of what kind of year gold traders would have and we still have a whole quarter left in the year! Full Story

Actually, my preference right now is Bloomberg over CNBC; less silliness and disinformation, although both networks still have the stock puffers. Banks May Pool Billions to Stop Securities Sell-off

While it's generally realized by informed individuals that at some point our financial and monetary system will become cataclysmic, there's a blue sky waiting for those who cherish individual liberty. The American people no longer trust their leaders. People no longer believe what their government, media or Establishment leaders tell them. In the view of many, their government is losing its paternal status of being a benevolent provider to that of being an oppressor, an administrator of tyranny by a select few. All of this distrust is good, and must occur before substantial change and a return to the rule of law can be achieved. Taxpayers know in their hearts that in the end the US Government will toss in their hard-earned money to bailout the bankers. In spite of crocodile tears from Treasury about "these stressful times, and everyone doing their part", Americans know the Government will be lying while it picks the peoples' pockets.
It took eleven years after the 1765 Stamp Act for the colonialists to finally Revolt and Secede from the King's rule. The events leading up to 1776 are fascinating when viewed chronologically of which a bullet list is here. There were many, many other triggers besides the Boston Tea Party.

New York Times

Several of the world’s biggest banks are in talks to put up about $75 billion in a backup fund that could be used to buy risky mortgage securities and other assets, a move designed to ease pressure on a crucial part of the credit markets that threatens the broader economy.

Citigroup, Bank of America and JPMorgan Chase, along with several other financial institutions, have been meeting to come up with a plan to create a fund that could prevent a sharp sell-off in securities owned by bank-affiliated investment vehicles. The meetings, which began three weeks ago, have been orchestrated by senior officials at the Treasury Department, and the discussions have intensified in the last few days.

America's First Terrorist

I should point out that John Brown is an ancestor of mine having the common Mayflower ancestry of Peter Browne. Fortunately, I have more significant others to more than compensate for this Brown's atrocities and crimes. Although not mentioned in the article below, John Brown was captured by Robert E. Lee, tried for treason and hung by the Commonwealth of Virginia. You see, back then states were sovereign unto themselves. Our opinion-molders have always given us a choice between 'good' evil and 'bad' evil. In 1859, John Brown was a 'good' terrorist just as the Red Chinese are 'good' communists while Chavez, along with growing resentment of Putin are bad' communists. Cuba's Battista was a 'bad' dictator, but Castro is a 'good' one. Nicaragua's Somoza was a "bad" dictator, but the Communist Ortega is a 'good' one. Nelson Mandela is another example of a terrorist becoming a 'good' communist. Not too far removed from Brown's terrorism is the state terrorism we inflict upon other nations today. It's 'good' evil because we know what's better for them and offer them our form of democracy in our caring for their common good. The American people are only offered policies of "relativity", 'the lesser of two evils' theory, and we lose every time. We should be grateful we only have 40 million illegals, and not 100 million?

Another not forgotten historical example of state 'good' terrorism was the abolitionists-inspired invasion of the American South and killing hundreds of thousands of Americans for the common 'good' as determined by these same New Englanders. The South has had nearly 145 years of "reconstruction", and still Yankees are resented. How long do you think it'll take the Middle East and the world to Love us again?

For more on the Unitarian subversion, see my: http://www.knology.net/~bilrum/unitwhig.htm

I further recommend Otto Scott's The Secret Six for more on the supporters and financiers of Brown's activities

Okay Unitarian-Universalist and American literary history buffs, be sure to read Adam Gopnik's essay about the brilliant, violent abolitionist John Brown. I'd like to call your attention especially to the way the Transcendentalists — our most famous Unitarians — embraced Brown after he and four of his sons slaughtered five pro-slavery men in Pottawatomie Creek, Kansas. That's right, after. Reviewing David S. Reynolds's new biography, Gopnik writes:

"Brown was never arrested or tried for the Kansas killings, and when he came back East he found himself a hero—though not with the members of Garrison’s abolitionist “establishment,” who were firmly pacifist and consumed by their own sectarian squabbling. Instead, it was the high Transcendentalists, Thoreau and Emerson and Alcott first among them, who became Brown’s fervent admirers and propagandists. Some of Reynolds’s most illuminating pages are devoted to Brown’s relationship to the Transcendentalists. The historical cliché has been that the Transcendentalists had their heads too far up in the clouds to see what was happening on the bloody earth below. Reynolds, however, following Stauffer, establishes that they were Brown’s most important intellectual allies..."

Catholics for Ron Paul: "Ron Paul Combating “Structures of Sin”

Catholics for Ron Paul

Ron Paul Combating “Structures of Sin”
"...For example, the Catholic Church teaches that the State has a “fundamental task” in economic matters of creating “sure guarantees of individual freedom and private property, as well as a stable currency.” The Church also implores everyone to “combat, in a spirit of justice and charity, those “structures of sin” wherever they may be found and which generate and perpetuate poverty, underdevelopment and degradation. These structures are built and strengthened by numerous concrete acts of human selfishness."

Ron Paul has been combating one of the greatest “structures of sin” for a very long time: the Federal Reserve System, the fiat currency and its role in inflation, and the oppression of the middle class and poor in our country to the benefit of big government, big banks and big business. Say what?!?..." Full article here

Spectre of sovereign wealth funds

One of the most insightful & well researched articles I've read in some time. The author puts to ink what I've been thinking, and often expressing for some time. We will see American companies have their boards of directors and CEOs replaced by Indians, Chinese & Russians albeit lettered with MBAs from Harvard. The world's equity markets will become glaringly obvious to all that they are politically-manipulated by central banks. Earnings will be plowed back into foreign economies and sheltered from US$ weakness. Corporate earnings will eventually be exposed as merely inflationay as the stocks of these companies appreciate only nominally. For Americans it will mean hyperinflation as their dollars import less and less from overseas and more of their purchasing power must be budgeted to feeding themselves from the shrunken number of domestic farmers whose land is now largely controlled by the Agriculture Cartel.
What other alternative do foreign dollar holders have? We no longer offer them gold redeemability. Our bond notes are recognized as just another trap. So, they'll just buy up what we have until we can no longer afford it ourselves as our currency goes into the dustbin of history.
Physical precious metals - in hand - and stronger currencies like the Swiss franc are the only safe harbor for Americans. This scary article is linked below.

Fw: Universal Health Care in Canada - Something to think about

From: Dean <>

Hey Guys; I seen on the news up here in Canada where Hillary Clinton introduced her new health care plan. Something similar to what we have in Canada. I also heard that Michael Moore was raving about the health care up here in Canada in his latest movie. As your friend and someone who lives with the Canada health care plan I thought I would give you some facts about this great medical plan that we have in Canada.

I send this out not looking for sympathy but as the election looms in the states you will be hearing more and more about universal health care down there and the advocates will be pointing to Canada. I just want to make sure that you hear the truth about health care up here and have some food for thought and informed questions to ask when broached with this subject.

First of all:

1) The health care plan in Canada is not free. We pay a premium every month of $96. for Shirley and I to be covered. Sounds great eh. What they don't tell you is how much we pay in taxes to keep the health care system afloat. I am personally in the 55% tax bracket. Yes 55% of my earnings go to taxes. A large portion of that and I am not sure of the exact amount goes directly to health care our #1 expense.

2) I would not classify what we have as health care plan, it is more like a health diagnosis system. You can get into to see a doctor quick enough so he can tell you "yes indeed you are sick or you need an operation" but now the challenge becomes getting treated or operated on. We have waiting lists out the ying yang some as much as 2 years down the road.

3) Rather than fix what is wrong with you the usual tactic in Canada is to prescribe drugs. Have a pain, here is a drug to take - not what is causing the pain and why. No time for checking you out because it is more important to move as many patients thru as possible each hour for Government re-imbursement

4) Many Canadians do not have a family Doctor.

5) Don't require emergency treatment as you may wait for hours in the emergency room waiting for treatment.

6) Shirley's dad cut his hand on a power saw a few weeks back and it required that his hand be put in a splint - to our surprise we had to pay $125. for a splint because it is not covered under health care plus we have to pay $60. for each visit for him to check it out each week.

7) Shirley's cousin was diagnosed with a heart blockage. Put on a waiting list . He died before he could get treatment.

8) Government allots so many operations per year. When that is done no more operations, unless you go to your local newspaper and plead your case and embarrass the government then money suddenly appears.

9) The Government takes great pride in telling us how much more they are increasing the funding for health care but waiting lists never get shorter. Government just keeps throwing money at the problem but it never goes away. But they are good at finding new ways to tax us, but they don't call it a tax anymore it is now a user fee.

10) My mother needs an operation for a blockage in her leg but because she is a smoker they will not do it. Despite her and my father paying into the health care system all these years. My Mom is 80 years of age. Now there is talk that maybe we should not treat fat and obese people either because they are a drain on the health care system. Let me see now, what we want in
Canada is a health care system for healthy people only. That should reduce our health care costs.

11) Forget getting a second opinion, what you see is what you get.

12) I can spend what money I have left after taxes on booze, cigarettes, junk food and anything else that could kill me but I am not allowed by law to spend my money on getting an operation I need because that would be jumping the queue. I must wait my turn except if I am a hockey player or athlete then I can get looked at right away. Go figure. Where else in the world can you spend money to kill yourself but not allowed to spend money to get healthy.

13) Oh, did I mention that immigrants are covered automatically at tax payer expense having never contributed a dollar to the system and pay no premiums.

14) Oh yeah, we now give free needles to drug users to try and keep them healthy. Wouldn't want a sickly druggie breaking into your house and stealing your things. But people with diabetes who pay into the health care system have to pay for their needles because it is not covered by the health care system.

Step wisely and don't make the same mistakes we have.

Oklahoma Takes a Stand on Illegal Aliens

STATE LEGISLATURES DON'T HAVE TO TAKE IT ANYMORE!
Is your legislature comprised of cowards and scalawags? Then throw 'em out at next opportunity!

Well, it passed! Oklahoma is no longer OK for Illegal Aliens........
It seems that at least one state has decided to take matters into it's own hands, since the Federal Government keeps dragging it's feet on this Illegal alien stuff and even reversing popular opinion on how to handle it.

BRAVO OKLAHOMA! (Too bad all politicians don't have the 'guts' to do this)

Every State needs to do this!!!!

Oklahoma's Governor Brad Henry has signed a sweeping immigration Reform bill: House Bill 1804, that its sponsor believes will go a long way in dealing with the illegal alien problem in the state.

House Bill 1804
, was passed by overwhelming majorities in both the House and Senate of the Oklahoma Legislature. The measure's sponsor, State Representative Randy Terrill, says the bill has four main topical areas: it deals with identity theft; it terminates public assistance benefits to illegal; it empowers state and local police to enforce federal immigration laws; and it punishes employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens.

Oklahoma is no longer "O.K." for illegal aliens, Terrill observes. "When you put everything together in context," he contends, "the bottom line is illegal aliens will not come here if there are no jobs waiting for them, they will not stay here if there is no government subsidy, and they certainly won't stay here if they know that if they ever encounter our state and local law enforcement officers, they will be physically detained until they're deported. And that's exactly what House Bill 1804 does."

The Oklahoma legislator is pleased the bill he sponsored into law was signed by Governor Henry and believes it will go a long way to curb the illegal immigration problem in the state. "I would remind people that states are separate sovereigns in our federal system," Terrill points out. "Anyone who doesn't understand that needs to go back and take an American federal government class in college," he says.

As a result of that sovereignty, the Oklahoma lawmaker insists, "We have as much right - in fact, I would argue, a responsibility - to protect our tax payers against that sort of egregious waste, fraud and abuse as the federal government should have a responsibility to protect that international border, but doesn't do that."

Terrill says as long as the federal government refuses to do its job of protecting the international borders of the United States, states like Oklahoma must take action to deal with the problem that is costing taxpayers in the state $200 billion a year in public benefits, law enforcement costs, and other resources.

14 GOOD REASONS TO DEPORT ILLEGAL ALIENS
(websites provided for verification)

Hopefully these 14 reasons will be forwarded over and over again until they are read by the majority of Americans. Then they will have something to yell at their U.S .. Congress members. $11 Billion to $22 billion is spent on welfare to illegal aliens each year.

$2.2 Billion dollars a year is spent on food assistance programs such as food stamps, WIC, and free school lunches for illegal aliens.

$2.5 Billion dollars a year is spent on Medicaid for illegal aliens.

$12 Billion dollars a year is spent on primary and secondary school education for children here illegally and they cannot speak a word of English!

$17 Billion dollars a year is spent for education for the American-born children of illegal aliens, known as anchor babies.

$3 Million Dollars a DAY is spent to incarcerate illegal aliens.

30% of all Federal Prison inmates are illegal aliens.

$90 Bill ion Dollars a year is spent on illegal aliens for Welfare & social services by the American taxpayers.

$200 Billion Dollars a year in suppressed American wages are caused by the illegal aliens.

The illegal aliens in the United States have a crime rate that's two and a half times that of white non-illegal aliens. In particular, their children, are going to make a huge additional crime problem in the United States

During the year of 2005 there were 4 to 10 MILLION illegal aliens that crossed our Southern Border also, as many as 19,500 illegal aliens from Terrorist Countries. Millions of pounds of drugs, cocaine, meth, heroine and marijuana, crossed into the U. S. from the Southern border. Homeland Security Report.

The National Policy Institute "estimated that the total cost of mass deportation would be between $206 and $230 billion or an average cost of between $41 and $46 billion annually over a five year period."

In 2006 illegal aliens sent home $45 BILLION in remittances back to their countries of origin.

So if deporting them costs between $206 and $230 BILLION DOLLARS, Start getting rid of em.' We'll be ahead after the 1st year!!!

Please pass this on. Americans need to wake up!

Whatever Happened to the Iranian Oil Bourse?

In September 2000 Saddam Hussein announced Iraq would no longer accept US dollars for Iraqi oil. Iraq was invaded by neo-con troops the next year to bring Iraq's oil reserves under control of the world's international oil companies, predominantly British and American. It was not an invasion to secure oil for Americans, but to secure the oil for the elitist oil companies. Oil, like all commodities, is sold on world bourses to the highest bidders. Remember the Soviet grain deal giveaway in the '70s & '80s because of which we all had to pay more for our bread? Same thing. This was an effort by our elected leaders to prop-up the Communist dictatorship in Russia. World oil production may have peaked as the 'peak oilers' contend, but the ultimate fate of fiat currencies and who controls the remaining oil will be determined long before the oil reserves run dry. And that is as I see it.
It was never in this nation's national interest that our troops steal the Iraqi oil, but in the interest of the CFR and the globalist banking and energy cabals. Attacking Iraq was fair warning to other rogue governments which may be planning similar decouplings from the world globalists. This is what terrorists do to intimidate, frighten, and convey a strong message what fate will befall others who resist those taking us on a journey to a new world order. This is what terrorists do. They terrorize.
From what we can determine the US invasion and concurrent devastation of Iraqi life has been successful in discouraging Iran from going ahead with their Iran Oil Bourse, originally scheduled to open in March 2006. While the neo-cons still have all their war "options on the table", there is no pressing need for Iran to open an oil bourse to compete with the London IPE, or the NYMEX. The drop in the US$ has been far more threatening to the US Government, and by extension the banking cartel, than any competing oil bourse could precipitate. Israel stands poised to become the spearhead of an attack on Iran should it be called upon by the Anglo-American establishment. What could have been the reason that the Israeli Prime Minister asked that the US taxpayer foreign aid be made in euros, and the usual US$ currency? Could it be to ensure that Israel would have the required oil for an attack? But, even still, Israel would have been more than able to covert any dollars into euros. Was it to put the currency risk back onto the US taxpayer, or something else?
If I were permitted to pose a question to Iranian President Ahmadinejad at his recent roasting at Columbia University, I would have asked: "Mr. President, what is the current plan for Iran's world oil bourse, and to what extent has your agreement to sell oil to China alleviated other threats to your sovereignty?". Not surprisingly, this whole thread of US$ divestiture from oil is ignored by our MSM (Mainstream Media). Understandable though, as they are under CFR guidance as well.
Whatever the end result shall be, Democrat and Republican foreign policies over decades has so destabilized the Middle East that we cannot envision a modicum of stability being restored even in the lifetimes of our grandchildren.
Ron Paul has it right. We should just march home as we just marched in. The whole world will be a safer place to raise our families. With commodity-pegged currencies such as gold and silver competing with dishonest paper banknotes, real free trade, not managed trade will flourish.

Democide by Government

We must now construct a scorecard for the Neo-Conservatives' record of imposing "democracies" with pre-emptive undeclared warring in the interest of "national security" and "common good". A good place to start is with the works of RJ Rummel. A page of democide images from his site is here. The only presidential candidate who would end these unlawful wars is Ron Paul.

Baptist Cowboy

A cowboy, who is visiting Wyoming from Texas , walks into a bar and orders three mugs of Bud. He sits in the back of the room, drinking a sip out of each one in turn. When he finishes them, he comes back to the bar and orders three more.

The bartender approaches and tells the cowboy, 'You know, a mug goes flat after I draw it. It would taste better if you bought one at a time.'

The cowboy replies, 'Well, you see, I have two brothers. One is in Arizona , the other is in Colorado When we all left our home in Texas , we promised that we'd drink this way to remember the days when we drank together. So I'm drinking one beer for each of my brothers and one for myself.'

The bartender admits that this is a nice custom, and leaves it there.

The cowboy becomes a regular in the bar, and always drinks the same way. He orders three mugs and drinks them in turn.

One day, he comes in and only orders two mugs. All the regulars take notice and fall silent. When he comes back to the bar for the second round, the bartender says, 'I don't want to intrude on your grief, but I wanted to offer my condolences on your loss.'

The cowboy looks quite puzzled for a moment, then a light dawns in his eyes and he laughs.

'Oh, no, everybody's just fine,' he explains, 'It's just that my wife and I joined the Baptist Church and I had to quit drinking.'

'Hasn't affected my brothers though.'
